(HealthDay News) -- Picking up a racquet on an indoor court is a great way to exercise when the weather goes downhill. But you should remember to take precautions.

The American Academy of Family Physicians suggests:

  • If you feel tired, cramping or pain, stop playing and don't try to push through it.
  • Keep a distance of at least 1 1/2 feet between you and your opponent.
  • Try to play with someone with similar experience. If you are more experienced than your opponent, use extra caution.
